Lending Library
The telephone box on Derby Lane has been converted to a lending library. Feel free to borrow and donate books. No singing.

The box is a K6 model designed by
Sir Giles Gilbert Scott,
and is believed to have been bought by public subscription just before WW II. The Parish Council have set some money aside
for refurbishment. The library has featured in the
Ashbourne News Telegraph
, on the
BBC and in the
Derby Telegraph.

Your Neighbourhood Watch coordinator is Tony Grace. Shirley is part of the
Hulland Area Safer Neighbourhood area. The non-emergency number for the Safer
